Site PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

Appropriate PPE must be provided for workers. All PPE must meet Australian Standards.

Everyone on site needs to wear a hard hat and high-vis at all times.

Hard hats must be worn as designed and advised by the manufacturer e.g. not backwards, modified or with other headwear underneath except tight skull caps. Turbans and hard hats don’t mix, please find an alternative that meets both religious and safety requirements.

High visibility material must cover the majority of the front and back of the torso. Please don’t wear faded high vis or high vis on limbs only, it doesn’t meet standard.

Safety boots appropriate for the task and site environment (as determined by Manteena) must be worn by all workers. Anyone entering site under visitor site safety rules should wear enclosed, flat shoes as a minimum.

No singlets or vests to be worn on their own, capped sleeves is a minimum for sun protection.

Sunscreen should be considered PPE for all outdoor work.

Task specific PPE should be worn as required. If you’re unsure it will be needed, have it with you just in case to avoid delays on site. If an activity you are undertaking has the potential to affect others you must make sure they are wearing appropriate PPE as well or stop the activity until they have left the area.
