Smoking and Vaping Rules

Don’t smoke or vape within buildings under construction where the building is partially or wholly enclosed, on major thoroughfares and pathways, within 10m of any major access points to buildings, temp sheds, outdoor eating and drinking areas, site amenities or around flammable substances or areas designated with non-smoking signage.

The work site may have a designated smoking area, please use it. The client and private land adjacent to site might have specific rules related to smoking, we need to uphold those rules.

Headphones on Site

Don’t wear headphones on site, including ear buds. We need to be able to communicate with you and know that you can hear what is going on around you. Please be kind if someone asks you to follow this rule.

Mobile Phones

Stop what you’re doing to take a phone call. Don’t use a mobile phone while operating or spotting for mobile plant. Heads up – don’t walk around site looking at your phone.

Radios

The use of radios is at the discretion of the client and the site manager. You may be asked to turn your radio down or off. If an issue of competing radios or excessive volume cannot be resolved by the involved parties, site management will resolve the issue for you.
