If you are contacted to fix a defect during DLP, we expect you to make it as much a priority as you would any other part of the job, in regard to program, quality and safety.

Depending on your trade, during the Defect Liability Period (DLP) you’ll carry out preventative maintenance as defined in the Operation and Maintenance Manuals.

Please ensure you are familiar with the requirements in the contract (which usually correspond to the client’s requirements under the head contract) for:

• Duration of defects liability period
• Extension of defects liability period where defects are rectified
• Any requirements for provision of warranties and certificates that the client requires prior to completion and final certficate
• It is important to be aware Warranties / certificates
