Manteena have identified 6 areas within the construction process that require specific focus when it comes to quality. Particular scrutiny will be placed on these areas and you are required to be proficient in the details and compliance requirements.
Depending on the risk, we will ask for your engagement in:
- Workshops to step through design, re-design or methodology
- In-house or consultant review by a subject matter specialist
- Early preparation and review of ITPs and commissioning plans
- Multiple hold points
6 High Risk Areas
- Water ingress related to basements, facades, podiums, balconies, wet areas, roof and guttering, retaining walls, planter boxes, waterproof membranes and pressurised pipework.
- Structural irregularity or failure, particularly set-out, integral falls and hobs and concrete mix, placement and curing. Also, hand-in-hand with safety, are quality issues related from formwork, propping and temporary structures.
- Building Services, particularly junctions and joins on domestic hot and cold water, boiler and chiller pipework and fire dampers.
- Passive Fire, particularly wall types, penetrations, spandrels and fire collars.
- Acoustics, particularly associated with wall types, services (pipework) and floors / soffits.
- Proposed alternatives / substitutions are to be rigorously and transparently evaluated for suitability as early as possible.
